Four Principles. One Mission.
Putting Platte County Citizens First
Fund the Mission. Execute the Mission.
Platte County government has one mission to focus on: Provide best-in-class public infrastructure and public safety to its citizens. We need to fully fund that mission. We need to execute that mission. The county government must stay focused on that mission.
That is what taxpayers pay for, and that is where every county dollar should go. I will stand against those looking to spend county tax dollars on pet projects, social experiments, or causes that belong with private donors, school districts, or state agencies.I will stand against those looking to spend county tax dollars on pet projects, social experiments, or causes that belong with private donors, school districts, or state agencies.

More Taxes Are Not the Answer.
In the last eight years, Platte County residents have been asked to raise their own taxes 44 times — more than five times a year. That isn’t governing; it’s a habit.
My position is plain: We are already past what is necessary, and well into what is excessive.
I will not support tax increases in Platte County, and I will not support the use of low-turnout, off-cycle elections to push politically sensitive agenda items through under the radar. Government should set priorities and live within its means — the same way every Platte County family already does.
Once in office, I will work with like-minded leaders to execute the mission of county government more efficiently — and whenever possible, returning hard-earned money back to the taxpayers who provided it. That includes opening sincere conversations about rolling back the property taxes to zero in Platte County — including personal property taxes.
Honest Growth That Stands on Its Own Feet.
I am not anti-growth — I am pro-growth, I am pro-honest-growth: private-sector growth that stands on its own two feet, without insider deals that shift risk onto taxpayers, and without overwhelming the unique character that makes Platte County feel like home.
Platte County is special because of its people, its culture, its green spaces, and its well-balanced mix of suburban, commercial, and agricultural life. Growth and development, like rain, are going to happen. And like rain, growth has to be managed — so one part doesn’t overwhelm the rest.
Too often, politicians chase the next ribbon cutting — making decisions in favor of the photo opportunity in front of them, without thinking about what they are actually leaving behind.
I will not lead Platte County government that way. Every major decision deserves a generational test: 50, 60, even 75 years from now, will our kids and grandkids look at the Platte County we handed them and still recognize what makes this place home?
If the honest answer is no, then it isn’t the right project at the right time.
Transparent, Accountable Government — In Every Direction.
Long before I ever considered running for office, I taught myself Missouri’s Sunshine Law and spent two years standing up to City Hall as a private citizen. I was honored as a “Sunshine Hero” by the Missouri Press Association and the Missouri Sunshine Coalition. I will bring that same stubborn, evidence-driven oversight to the County Commission: read every contract, scrutinize every promise made by those seeking taxpayer resources, ask the hard questions, and refuse to be brushed off.
Accountability has to run in every direction.
The county must be honest with itself — willing to look at its own decisions, budgets, and shortcomings clearly, without trying to be clever about concealing them. The county must also be transparent with the people it serves. No sneaking decisions through low-turnout votes. No hiding behind procedure or hoping the public won’t notice — because the public will notice. Every time.
The same standard has to apply to anyone who approaches county government asking for taxpayer support. Special interests, lobbyists, and advocacy coalitions seeking county dollars should be required to open their books, prove their claims, and show their work — not hide behind marketing language and hype-cycle promises. If a proposal cannot survive that kind of scrutiny, it does not belong on the agenda.
